Just had the best tour to see the best places in the Cotswold’s. Jon has a lot of history knowledge about all the small and big Villages. Very interesting to listen to for all ages; not to mention his high tech comfy car! He showed us all the hidden Villages what one would not see on a tour bus- and pubs! Fantastic experience- a must do and will do again part 2! Thank you Jon.

“The Cotswolds Chauffer is Top Choice”

If you truly want to experience the Cotswolds hire Jon Moorhouse, the Cotswolds Chauffer. He lives in the area and knows it like the back of his hand. He is charming, knowledgeable and on time. His luxury sedan is impeccably maintained and he drives safely at all times. We told him we wanted to see stately homes and gardens; local pubs and picturesque villages and Jon had a curated list of excellent ideas for us that made our trip memorable. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Jon again and as a travel writer I recommend him to everyone who wants to visit the Cotswolds. He also took us to and from the airports as well as two day long tours of Bath and the countryside.

In short, the Cotswold Chauffeur is the number one driver and guide in the area.

“A perfect tour the Cotswolds and Bath with Jon Moorhouse”
5 of 5 starsReviewed 26 October 2015

After 4 days in London, we wanted to explore the calm and peace of the Cotswolds.
The staff at the Manor house in Castle Combe recommended that we hire Jon as our tour guide. We followed their suggestion and spent 2 delightful days touring the Cotswolds and Bath and learning more about the area from Jon than we ever would have had we traveled by ourselves.
Jon is friendly, easy to be with and has a great sense of humor. His knowledge of the area is extensive and his love of the area is very evident. His car is new and even has wifi for those who need it.
We ended our trip by having Jon take us to Heathrow after our tour of Bath to avoid trains and cabs, etc. which worked out perfectly for us.
We would highly recommend Jon Moorhouse and Cotswold Chauffeur Tours to anyone wanting to explore the Cotswolds, Bath and beyond.
We feel we made a friend!

“Delightful Days in the Cotswolds”
5 of 5 starsReviewed 25 October 2015

My good friend, Jen, raved about her time with Jon in the Cotswolds…. So, we booked him. Jon was a delightful driver and tour guide throughout the Cotswolds. He exceeded our high expectations.

Jon picked us up at Heathrow, drove us to Stonehenge and on to our fabulous hotel, Lucknam Park (also recommended by Jen and Jon). During our drive, Jon got a sense of our interests and what we enjoy seeing and doing. Throughout our time with Jon, he was observant and sensitive to our preferences and often tweaking our day to best suit us. We spent two days touring the Cotswolds with Jon. He took us to and through many charming villages. Jon induldged and quenched my quest to see several Cotswolds gardens…. Burton House and Hidcote Gardens were my two faves. Jon was everything I would ever want in a driver. He was punctual, pleasant, knowledgeable, attentive, deferential, a great conversationalist and amusing. We hope to plan another trip to the Cotswolds. We will contact Jon when we return.

“Terrific tour of Stonehenge and Avebury”
5 of 5 starsReviewed 18 October 2015

Jon Moorhouse was recommended to us by our hotel in Bath. We were not disappointed.

He picked us up very promptly at our hotel (actually, a few minutes early). My husband and I had some ideas of things we wanted to do, but were also looking for some local guidance. We are travelers who like to read every sign and take our time; we never felt a bit rushed during the day.

Our first stop was Stonehenge. We had bought tickets for later in the day, but it was a slow time and Jon suggested it would be better to go early. He walked us up to the ticket booth to be sure we would have no trouble going in early (we didn’t) and then walked us over to the museum and told us where to go from there. He was easy to find when we were done.

After that, we were pretty loose about itinerary, since we wanted to spend a whole day at Salisbury the following day. He suggested Avebury, which was terrific. We walked through the town and the site together; Jon left us on our own through the museum and a quick lunch. At our request, we also ducked into the surviving Anglo-Saxon church in town.

Then to top off the day, we went over the Castle Comb, which is a nearly perfectly-preserved medieval village. It was starting to rain a little on us, but just delightful to walk down the main street of the town. Great photo opportunities and commentary.

Jon was knowledgeable about the area and the history (which we loved), and very flexible about doing whatever we wanted or making suggestions, as we desired. It was a very pleasant day, and I would recommend this service to anyone!

“We love Jon!”
5 of 5 starsReviewed 4 August 2015 via mobile

I recently returned from a visit to England and after being in bustling London for 4 days, our 2 days we spent touring the Cotswolds with Jon was the best part! We wished we had a few more days! Jon was everything I could imagine in a driver/guide: impeccably dressed, friendly, funny and a great conversationalist. His local knowledge was a definite plus!

Jon made it so easy to visit the countryside by picking us up from our hotel in London
and planning our itinerary (with Stonehenge being the only specification.) Jon also recommended the amazing five star Lucknam Park Hotel and Spa for our stay in the Cotswolds, (see photos below.)

If you are trying to plan a top notch visit outside of London, look to Jon! His local knowledge and first class service was unbelievable. The time we spent with Jon makes us want to go back and spend more time with him exploring the towns and back roads of the beautiful Cotswolds

WE LOVE JON!!! After only two days with this magnificent driver and friend, my group (two teenage girls, one mom, and one granny) absolutely loved Jon and what he had to offer. Jon planned our itinerary perfectly. With only 48 hours in the Cotswolds, I feel as if I saw everything that I needed to and never felt rushed. From Windsor Castle to Stonehenge to the beautiful Lavender fields of Snowshill and the charming and quaint towns in-between, I loved every minute of it! He took us shopping in the cotswold towns and introduced us to the best street food I’ve ver had. We watched a local woman heard sheep and even met his wife one day, too! Naturally, us eighteen year-old girls set up an Instagram account for him- please go look up @cotswold_chauffeur if you have any more questions about what you could experience after you hire Jon! He was absolutely lovely, and I couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide and friend. If you are anywhere near London or the Cotswolds you simply MUST call Jon!

“Nine days in Cotswolds and beyond.”

Jon showed us the Cotswolds and beyond over 9 days. We had a wonderful time and Jon was the main reason. I rate him 5 star or excellent or the highest rating possible.

“The best day of our trip to England”
5 of 5 starsReviewed 31 May 2015

You can believe everything you have read in the other reviews about Jon- he is born and raised in the Cotswolds and he clearly knows the place inside and out!
My wife and I visited the Cotswolds for the first time last week, and we were only able to spend one day in the area, so we left our tour itinerary to Jon’s discretion given the limited time. He did a great job cramming in the best off-the-beaten-path sights in the area, while making sure we spent as much time as we wanted, where we wanted. The result was a relaxing day that exceeded our expectations. We never felt that we were rushed from place to place, we simply enjoyed the scenery and Jon’s explanations of the history of the area.
We were blown away by the idyllic villages and the country lanes between towns. It’s hard to believe such places still exist, but Jon knows his way around all of them. We visited Upper and Lower Slaughter, Broadway, Tetbury, Castle Combe, Bath, and other villages that I cannot remember at the moment. Every one of them is spectacular in its own way.
If you are looking for a relaxed tour with a guide who is very personable and ready to share his personal knowledge of the area and its history, then this is the tour for you. If you want to stay on the beaten path and follow a strict itinerary (certainly there are folks who prefer a structured tour that follows a schedule from point to point), then you should look elsewhere.
I can’t recommend Jon highly enough. Would give him 6 stars if I could.

“Jon + 4 American Women = 1 Fabulous Day Touring the Cotswolds”
5 of 5 starsReviewed 22 July 2014

After a week in London we were ready for a more relaxed pace but at the same time we didn’t want to miss a full experience of the Cotswolds. Jon listened then confidently put together the perfect itinerary for us. The Cotswolds are full of “back roads” but when Jon took us down his favorites, pointing out the seasonal flora, we appreciated the beauty even more. We lingered in tiny towns taking in the architecture, the gardens and the peacefulness. His choices of when and where to stop, tour, eat and shop were perfect for us. I think Jon actually had a good time and even tried on cashmere sweaters for us at a mill shop! His very comfortable vehicle was impeccably clean, equipped with water and umbrellas and had great visibility. All in all, a fabulous day. As a final note, Jon’s patient and pleasant way would be wonderful for families.

“Friendly Five Star Service”
5 of 5 starsReviewed 16 July 2014

My husband and I were on a whirlwind tour of Europe, with private guides and drivers in each of our destinations. As one can imagine, the personalities and knowledge of each professional varied greatly. Some were more engaging and knowledgeable than others. The Cotswolds was our final stop after being on the road for two weeks. We were pleasantly surprised by our driver (and owner) of Cotswold Chauffeur, Jon Moorhouse. In him we found a warm and friendly driver and guide, who offered tremendous knowledge of the various towns we visited. Jon was a wonderful driver as well as an accommodating guide. We wanted to visit a farm…a departure from the many museums, architectural/historical tours, and wine, cheese and chocolate tastings we had experienced elsewhere. Jon not only found us a wonderful working and educational farm as a destination: Cotswolds Farm Park,(not to be missed if one enjoys learning about the importance of the agricultural history of the Cotswolds) he also took us to some of the nicest towns in the area and left us to walk around freely, as he was adept at reading his weary traveler’s moods…no more long lectures by private tour guides! No more heavily structured days! All in all, Jon made our trip to the Cotswolds one to remember. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a jovial driver and guide who is knowledgeable, professional, and has a state of the art coach in which to ride in comfort as one takes in the beauty that is the Cotswolds.
