The Cotswolds tour from Bath
Our Bath Cotswold Tour will take you on a journey from the City of Bath into the rolling hills of the Cotswolds. This private tour is designed for those of you who are using Bath as a base and would like to be shown around the Cotswolds for a day or two returning to your accommodation in Bath each day.
Bath Cotswold tour itinerary
From collecting you at you accommodation it takes only twenty minutes to be in the Cotswolds. The first village we visit is the picturesque and one of England’s prettiest villages Castle Combe, steeped in history from its 13th Century church to a wonderful 14th Century market cross, a village not to be missed.
We stop here for a walkabout to talk about the architecture and admire the cottages, and the scenery before carrying on our journey into the Cotswolds.
Form Castle Combe we drive north into the Cotswolds, Tetbury is our next stop. This famous market town has a famous resident living by- Prince Charles and his shop, Highgrove, amongst many antique shops and local shops can be found in this town. We stop here for a coffee too!
From Tetbury we drive to Bibury, and stop to see one of England’s most photographed streets Arlington Row, former weavers cottages and the pretty River Coln that runs through the middle.
Next we take one of my favourite drives through the Cotswolds, one of the many off the beaten tracks away from the tourists exploring rural England at its best, the Coln valley
Our destination is Broadway and Chipping Campden. These are the two most northern towns in the Cotswolds, honey coloured cottages or oolitic, meaning yolk coloured in ancient Greek!
Chipping Campden is famous for its amazing thatched cottages along Sheep street, and Broadway for its stunning street full of fantastic shops, coffee shops and restaurants.
This is as far as we go on our tour, in between we drive through the beautiful countryside and amongst the above villages and towns mentioned, we will also drive to and through – Snowshill, Broadway tower, Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold and Lower Slaughter
